"Synthmospheria is the brainchild of Pretoria born Musician/Producer Aleksandar ""Al Funk"" Jankovic. Jankovic started playing drums at age 14. In 2008, Jankovic enrolled at the Academy of Sound Engineering,SABC,Auckland Park,Johannesburg. At about the same time, Jankovic started learning Piano and Composition. During his 2 years at the Academy from 2008-2009, Jankovic toured with then upcoming band Isochronous doing FOH at notable festivals such as Oppikoppi,Ramfest and Innibos. Jankovic successfully graduated from ASE with a Diploma in Sound Engineering specialising in Music Production at the end of 2009. Since then Jankovic has been composing, recording, arranging, mixing and mastering his own Music. Synthmospheria is the culmination of the last 10 year's work. During that time, Jankovic worked tireless hours perfecting the Art of composition and Production and developing his sound. The debut album Transcience LP is predominantly written by Jankovic with exception to Bass Guitar which was recorded by long time friend and Bassist of Isochronous Franco Schoeman. The album is predominantly instrumental with exception to 2 songs. The song Breakthroughs features a vocal performance by talented Mozambiquan Neo/Afro Soul artist Libra Aima. Synthmospheria's 2nd album Polymatica EP sound is still quintessentially the same with the notable difference of Electric Guitar featuring more prominently courtesy long time Italian friend David De Veredicis. The addition of guitar takes the music in a much more Post-Rock direction as the 1st album had strong elements and influences of Post Rock but was not the predominant drover. I am also digging more into the Dream/Synth Another new addition is the vibrant tonal colours and textures on Bass provided by Thabang Malete,SA's hottest upcoming bassist. Thabang also brings funky and infectious basslines that listeners would have become accustomed to on the 1st album. Thabang plays effortlessly and really finesses the album"
